Presenting is hard
Presenting scientific information is hard. It's one thing to understand everything in your paper after carefully reading it a dozen times, but another thing to condense all that information into an easily-digestible, 10 minute presentation. Even after practicing, I was never able to overcome the nervousness of public speaking. I would make a lot of mistakes (like leaving out how an important assay was performed) and sound very repetitive. I know I need a lot more practice to develop my communication skills. Overall, I enjoyed journal club and wished we did it often--in a more chill (not graded) setting. I'm just glad that memes are the universal language among millennials because there's no talking involved.
